Skillet Fried Apples
These buttery cinnamon fried apples are made easily in a skillet, and are absolutely perfect to have as a quick dessert (with a scoop of vanilla ice cream), a topping for pancakes, waffles, and more!

- 5 medium Granny Smith apples peeled, cored, and sliced into 1/2" thick slices
- 6 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/3 heaping packed cup light brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp granulated sugar
- pinch of kosher salt
- 2 Tbsp water
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
Saute
Heat a large skillet over MED heat. Once hot, add butter, apple slices, ground cinnamon, light brown sugar, granulated sugar, and salt. Stir to combine well.
Cook, stirring every couple of minutes, for 8-10 minutes, or until apples are starting to soften.
Thicken
Pour the slurry mixture into the skillet with the apples and stir.
Cook another 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until sauce has thickened to your liking.

- Apples can be left unpeeled if you prefer.
