Cocktail
- 2 oz cold vodka we like to use Smirnoff or Titos (about 1/4 cup)
- 1/2 oz lime juice fresh is best (about 1 Tbsp)
- 4 oz cold ginger beer we like to use Fever-Tree or Reed's (about 1/2 cup)
To serve
- ice we like to use nugget-style ice, but crushed also works well
- lime slices for garnish
- fresh mint for garnish
Fill a copper mug (or other glass) with ice.
Pour in the vodka, then lime juice, then ginger beer.
You can drink it as is, or give it a gentle stir.
Garnish if desired, and serve ice cold.
- This recipe makes enough for one cocktail, but can easily be scaled up for as many cocktails as you'd like.
- For an even frostier drink, chill your copper mugs before making the cocktail.
Large batch:
- I don't recommend making a large batch with the ginger beer, because any carbonation will be gone.
- However you can mix up a large batch (however many drinks you want, multiply the ingredient amount by that number), of the vodka and lime juice.
- Stir it well, then cover and chill for several hours, or up to 2 days.
- When ready to serve, pour 2.5 oz of the mixture into a mug filled with ice, and then pour in 4 oz ginger beer.
