As stunning as it is delicious, this witches brew cocktail is perfect for all your Halloween festivities with it’s eerie greenish yellow color!
If you’re having a Halloween party and looking for a signature drink… look no further than this witches brew cocktail!ย Your guests will LOVE the glowing greenish color, and gladly sip this sweet cocktail all night long!
Who’s ready for Halloween?ย It’s such a fun time of year… for people of all ages.ย Plus, some of the spookiest and coolest cocktails are made for Halloween.ย Like this Witches Brew cocktail… I mean just look at the eerie greenish color!ย
From some of the pictures, you might think this is one of those glowing drinks.ย It’s not, I just took these photos right near a large window, which gives it a luminescent look.ย
To mimic this look during a Halloween party, just have these drinks lined up near a light source of some kind!
Other than the beautiful spooky color, my favorite part about this cocktail is that it uses only 3 ingredients!!ย Yes, just 3.
Orange juice, lemon lime soda, and Midori melon liqueur.ย Midori isn’t all that expensive, and it’s what gives this drink the stunning yellow-green color.
This witches brew cocktail is not incredibly strong… it’s more of a party punch type of drink where your guests can enjoy them all night long without getting sloshed.
In the recipe notes section (right below the recipe itself) I’ve detailed a way to make this drink stronger, and even a non-alcoholic version as well.
I like to serve this drink in my martini glasses, which hold 8 oz, but you can definitely serve them in any glass you’d like.ย The black sanding sugar rim is optional, but I think it adds an extra bit of spookiness, especially as some of the black sugar mixes with the drink, leaving little black swirls.
Even if you’re not into throwing a fancy Halloween party, this cocktail is perfect to sip with a friend or spouse while you watch a scary movie or tv show (The Walking Dead comes back on this month!!!!).
So grab a few ingredients and prepare to make one of my favorite cocktails… the witches brew!

Hello,
The drink looks amazing to make.
What color of the luster dust would you recommend?
The Chunky Chef says
I would do white/silver or gold ๐

What can you do to put some red in it (like blood stream)?
The Chunky Chef says
You could rim the glass with some red decorating gel, or you could use the edible “blood” from this recipe https://www.thechunkychef.com/bloody-vanilla-cupcakes-with-edible-blood/

My girlfriend would love the aesthetic of this drink, but she has a strong dislike of oranges and things orange flavored.
Is there another type of juice (or something else) that you could recommend that would still preserve the color appearance AND also work well with the flavors of the other ingredients that make up the drink?
Thanks in advance.ย
The Chunky Chef says
Without testing it myself, I can’t say for certain, but maybe some white grape juice?
Leah says
This is so cute! As a bartender, I recommend not putting any carbonated drinks in a shaker to save you from the giant mess that will happen. After you shake the liquor and juice, add the sprite, stir, and then strain into the glass.ย

YAASSSS – I learned this the hard way !!

What is recipe for witches brew if I make a gallon? Thank you
The Chunky Chef says
This recipe makes a 7.5 oz drink, and a gallon is 128 oz. So you would need to multiply all ingredient amounts by 17 to have a gallon of the drink.
